I really like having a clean downstairs. But I'm really getting tired of keeping it up. It's hard work. Staying up 'til 2 or 3AM every night is beginning to take its toll on me. I think tonight will be much earlier.
Today has been kind of a rough day from the start. When Ashley has something on her mind she will hound you forever. So my morning started off with her waking me up to tell me it was the first Saturday of the month and she wanted to go to Home Depot for the kids workshop. Of course the boys had no interest whatsoever to leave the house. I had planned to take Ashley to Build A Bear because they had a sale on these 2 animals when purchased together.
She had enough Christmas and Birthday money that she wanted to get them. Anyway, Aussie announced he needed to be home at 2:00 to play in some tournament online. So I decided we would leave right away and try and get back by 2:00. To get the boys out I promised McDonald's for lunch.
So instead of staying to work on the project we picked up the little kit at Home Depot. Ashley came inside with me and I asked for one kit and the lady gave me two. I looked at her funny. And she said don't you usually come with 2 kids? I was just surprised that she recognized us.
Then we headed out to Build A Bear. Since she knew what she wanted it didn't take long. She named the girl Skittle and the boy PJ.
Another thing that has had me busy this week is trying to find this little character- Skylander's Chop Chop.
This is an interesting game that Mason got for Christmas. You get this little platform with the game. You can purchase additional characters to put on this platform. You can put 2 characters on it and battle each other or team up to battle the computer. (I think) Anyway, ever since Christmas Aussie has been begging for this character and ALL the characters EVERYWHERE have been sold out. So for the past 2 weeks I have been seriously calling or going to at least 10 stores every single day to see if they got a shipment in. I knew Toys R Us was getting a shipment in yesterday. I called and they said they just put them out. I went and they had tons and tons of them- but no Chop Chop. So I had a very disappointed little boy yesterday.
So forward to today. We went to Build A Bear and I said Aussie since we are out this way do you want to try this Toys R Us? At first he said no because he really wanted to be back by 2:00 and he didn't think we had time. But it didn't take too long and we had a 1/2 hour to spare, so I suggested we quickly stop by on our way home. They had it!
I'm pretty tired of doing all the time for my kids. I think I need a little Mommy time. But I don't think I'll get it anytime soon.
I'm peering over my computer at the mess on the table and all I want to do is...uyy78iou. (That's my head hitting the computer.) I'm discouraged and physically drained.
The kids have been fighting tonight. One was sent to their room TWICE.
On a brighter note earlier this week I saw Izzy hop into this basket and then started chasing her tail. She is a hoot! She is so playful.
Some things I have been doing for myself is playing a few online games. I like to play Word With Friends,
which is just like Scrabble but a little better. I can guess at words and it will tell me if it is a word or not. If we played in person I probably wouldn't win. I also like playing with people I know on our own time scale. I am also enjoying Angry Birds on my phone.
I resisted for at least a year. But I'm having fun with it now! And I'm a bit addicted to it. I'm currently on level 13-15.
And guess what? The kids are fighting again. I think it is time for clean up, showers and bedtime.
